Responsibilities

Job description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Vendor Management: Identify, evaluate, and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors who provide solar-related materials and components, negotiating favorable terms and conditions.
  • Procurement: Source and purchase solar panels, inverters, batteries, mounting structures, cables, and other materials required for solar energy projects, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness.
  • Inventory Management: Manage inventory levels, track stock, and ensure the availability of required materials while minimizing excess inventory and associated costs.
  • Cost Control: Develop and implement strategies to reduce procurement costs, negotiate pricing and terms, and seek opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality or reliability.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that all materials and components purchased meet industry and company quality standards and specifications.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements related to procurement and supply chain management, including environmental and safety standards.
  • Order Processing: Manage purchase orders, track deliveries, and coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the creation and management of the departmental budget, as well as provide input into long-term procurement planning.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop contingency plans to mitigate them, such as identifying alternative suppliers.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, contracts, and supplier agreements.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments, such as project management, engineering, and finance, to ensure alignment in procurement activities with project schedules and financial objectives.
  • Market Research: Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and emerging suppliers to inform purchasing decisions and drive innovation.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in procurement or supply chain management, preferably in the solar or renewable energy industry.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of solar energy components and technology.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding of sustainability and environmental considerations in procurement.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards in the solar industry.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
