The latest state to seek lower tariffs is said to be Tamil Nadu. The Tamil Nadu Generation & Distribution Co (Tangedco) wants the winners of a solar auction held in January-February to reduce tariffs to Rs 3.47 a unit from Rs 4.40 per unit, matching the winning bid in a subsequent auction.

KOLKATA: Rays Power Infra a solar energy company, announced successful commissioning of its 78 MW solar PV projects at Roorkee district of Uttarakhand.
Execution work for the project started during last week of November 2016 and was executed by Rays Power on turnkey basis – from land acquisition to commissioning.
The 78 MW project comes under Uttarakhand Renewable Energy Development Agency’s (UREDA) competitive bidding for 2015-16. It will supply energy to the power hungry industrial areas of Bhagwanpur and Roorkee.
Tariffs for solar power in Tamil Nadu touched as low as Rs 3.47/unit in reverse-auctions held over the weekend. The biddings were done for 1,500 MW solar plants.
Solar energy firm Rays Power Infra hopes to commission 100 megawatt of solar power projects under the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) segment across the country by March 2017, said its senior official.
Speaking on the sidelines of an event announcing the commissioning of its 25 MW Solar PV park in Telangana, the company’s executive director Sanjay Gupta said, “We are expected to complete 100 MW of solar projects for our clients by the end of March 2017. Also, we will be commissioning two separate EPC projects, 9 MW and 10 MW in the next one or two months.”
